Home turf — we’re based here, so getting to you is minutes, not a diary event. Ruislip’s stock is classic 1930s Metroland: solid houses, plenty still running boards and wiring from decades back. Fuse board upgrades, EV chargers on the drive, EICRs on lets near the High Street — that’s a normal week for us.
A short hop from base, and the same interwar semis as Ruislip — with the same story: lofts converted, kitchens extended, and consumer units quietly asked to feed twice the house they were fitted for. Detached houses and proper driveways make Ickenham EV charger country — off-street parking keeps installs straightforward. Longer cable runs to garages are common here; we measure and quote those honestly up front rather than “adjusting” on the day.
Pinner’s period homes are handsome and, wiring-wise, occasionally ancient. We work sympathetically in older properties: lighting that suits the house, boards brought up to standard without butchering original features, and pre-purchase EICRs for anyone buying around the conservation area.
Bigger plots, bigger demands: multi-circuit kitchens, garden lighting, outbuildings and EV chargers. Northwood houses tend to need capacity — our job is making sure the consumer unit can actually feed everything the house has grown into.
Village life on the borough’s green edge — older cottages, long gardens, outbuildings. Out here, outdoor power and lighting done to spec matters: cable protected or buried properly, IP-rated fittings, RCD protection throughout. Not draped through a hedge and hoped for.
A big rental market means EICR season never ends in Uxbridge. Landlords: reports are legally required at least every five years — we test, report and quote remedials in one visit. The town’s Victorian terraces keep us busy with repairs and board upgrades too.
Family homes and a steady churn of extensions bring us a bit of everything in Hillingdon: tripping circuits, extra sockets, kitchen lighting, and consumer units that predate their owners. All of it a short drive from base.
Terraces, conversions and newer flats around the station — and a lot of rented property. Landlord EICRs and remedial work are the staple in Hayes, along with fault finding in older terraces where circuits have been added on top of circuits for fifty years.
Northolt’s interwar estates still hide plenty of original fuse boards — wooden backboards, fuse wire, no RCD in sight. If that sounds like the cupboard under your stairs, it owes you nothing: see consumer unit replacement, or get an EICR first and decide on evidence.
Kitchen-extension territory. Greenford’s semis keep growing backwards, and every new kitchen wants circuits, sockets and decent task lighting — wired properly and certificated, so the paperwork keeps up with the building work.
One of the busiest rental markets on our patch: landlord EICRs, remedials and renewals keep us regular visitors. Harrow’s Edwardian terraces also produce honest repair work — dead circuits, tired accessories, boards due a dignified retirement.
